A love of nature, including spelunking, hiking to waterfalls and walking in a forest inspired the author to write about the unique topography in Rumney, New Hampshire.
Babbling Brook Society, Waterfall Down Lodge and upcoming Cranny Nook Circle are location-based, delightful fantasy novellas grounded in historical accuracy, environmental science and respect for the Earth.
At the other end of the spectrum, she wrote a creative non-fiction novel Polish Mother, after a trip to Poland, the help of a Polish genealogist and a great deal of support from a third generation Polish-American (her beloved mother). Her great-grandmother and grandmother are typical devoted Polish mothers who honor God, family and country with prayer, food and patriotism. “Nobody knows the work it takes to keep the home together; nobody knows the steps its takes; nobody knows - but Mother. Karen Walczyk Prescott is married, the mother of three children, and has advanced degrees in Environmental Management and English Education. She was born, raised and educated in central and upstate New York, and now lives in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
